Get to know us

I fell in love with sailing when I was 14 years old (I think it was). National Geographic had just run the story of Robin Lee Graham in three parts that year and I was fascinated. That summer, visiting my grandmother, the family that lived next door had bought a small sailboat about the size of a laser. Since when i was there I always hung out with their son, who was about my age, they invited me along to go sailing. And that simply put the cap on it.

I bugged my dad to get us a sailboat. Instead, he got plans for a GLEN-L 10... and I spent the next three years building it. Sailed it twice, and went off to college. My brother turned it into a duck blind.

Roughly 15 years later, I had an Irwin 25 as my first "real boat". Sailed it singlehandedly across Lake Michigan and then had it shipped that winter to San Diego, CA where I had recently taken a new job. Sailed it there for 7 years, but sold it when we moved to Seattle, WA.

Fast forward another 20 years, and after marriages ending and a few other life calamities, I finally got it through my thick skull that the time to live life is the present, not "someday". With my then, girlfriend, we flipped a couple boats and then bought this one. Then for some reason, she decided she didn't want to live my dream with me.

So, now I forge ahead. Making my own life's story. And while currently alone, I am trusting that I will find people along the way to share the adventure(s) with!
